Tea-time With A Friend

"May I Pour You a Cup of Tea?" she offered as she set my teacup in front of me. Smiling as she held the matching teapot, ready to pour.

"Thank you," I replied. "This is such a nice idea. I really appreciate the effort you've made."

"Oh, my goodness. This is a pleasure. I've been wanting to visit for some time," she said.

I looked beyond my tea cup, now brimming with hot chamomile tea, at my beautiful amaryllis. It had opened all four blossoms yesterday. It seems a very hopeful sight at a time where I could certainly use it.

She caught my glance and noticed my amaryllis. "Oh, my. What a beauty. I've never seen such a tall amaryllis. And those blossoms... they're very unusual, aren't they? Have you had this plant long?"

I laughed. "I've been pretty amazed at it, too. I put it outdoors last Summer. It must have stored a lot of extra energy."

She smiled at me and asked, "Now, how are you doing?"

I paused. "I'm feeling very weak. And my hips hurt. I'm getting tired of lying around. I wish I could feel normal, again."

"I'm sure you do," she said. "How can I help you?"

"You are helping right now," I said. "I love that you're here. You're sharing yourself and your time... and your tea. I can offer my house, but You are offering your hospitali-tea. Thank you."

This is based on a true story. People, situations, and story reversed, changed and simulated. :-)

A lovely story, a comforting cup of tea, a beautiful flowering plant, and I hope you are feeling better!

Would you try posting with Mr. Linky again? I think you can delete and start over. For some reason it didn't 'take'. I found you by following your comment instead.

Thanks for being part of our blog-a-thon!

Did you really just make that up? You should be a writer full time! It was a lovely little story, and the photo is in keeping with it - simple and peaceful.
