Decor-a-Tea

My niece and I worked on this quilted wall hanging Saturday and Sunday.
This will hang in her home.
All I need to do is to finish the binding.
I sewed it on this morning and perhaps I can turn it
and hand stitch the backside soon.

The center block is cut from her mom's t-shirt.

Can you tell the blocks around the center are supposed to be
"hugs and kisses?"

That was her mom.
Full of hugs and kisses, tea parties and gardens.
Her family misses her.
We all do.

What a thoughtful post! There's been a lot of love put into your wallhanging ~ I love the sentiment in the center and the tea fabrics used in the pieces. Thank you for sharing!

Enjoy a lovely Spring day!

Oh my, I've made quilt squares before and they've taken me more than 2 days, simply beautiful and amazing!

What sweet fabric but an even sweeter gift of time spent with your niece making a special memory!

ellen b, it was a great project. Now that I'm home again, I plan to finish it. :-)

Kathi- The fun part was sewing with my niece. Her hubby did ALL the ironing! (Save a lot of time.)

Miss Sandy, You hit the nail on the head! They gave of their time and I gave of mine. The memory is a great blessing.

wow..how great...still hard to believe that she's not around to help you with something like it. I just pulled out a bag she made me a couple of years ago and have been carrying it to and from work with my lunch and work. I get so many compliments on it and then I get to share stories about how wonderful she was. And people at work think it was just so sweet how sweet she was...and I tell them about how she was....what a beautiful quilt...and can only dream of being able to do a project like this! I'm SOOOO not a quilter!
